Brisbane is one of the largest cities in Australia and a popular port of call for any cruises that are heading along the famous Queensland coast.
The cosmopolitan city is packed with plenty of things to see and do, with the chance to explore historic buildings, to embrace the lively nightlife or to head further afield to embrace the adventure-filled landscapes along the Gold Coast.
Should you want to spend your time within the city itself then the Museum of Brisbane is a great place to start, with the Queensland Museum telling the stories of the wider region.
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art is also worth a visit should you have a desire to further explore some culture, with the Performing Arts Centre and various theatres also dotted across the city.
Other attractions include the iconic City Hall, the famous Story Bridge and the Gabba sports stadium, whilst there are plenty of first class shopping and dining opportunities.
If you decide to head outside the city limits, then the famous Gold Coast resort is less than an hour away.
Here, you can hit the beach along Surfers Paradise, visit a local theme park or head for the summit of the SkyPoint tour to take in astonishing views across the city, the coast and the surrounding area.
If you’re a lover of wildlife, the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary provides a chance to get up close to one of Australia’s most famous species whilst Australia Zoo – made famous by the late Steve Irwin – is located to the north of the city towards Sunshine Coast.
As well as being home to more impressive stretches of beach, Sunshine Coast is the gateway to a number of National Parks including the Glass House Mountains.
