Monaco is a destination that is all about glitz and glamour so if you fancy following in the footsteps of the rich and famous, then this is a good place to start…
Located on the French Riviera, Monaco may be small but it holds huge appeal for those who want to explore everything the principality has to offer.
From the moment you arrive on your cruise around the Mediterranean, you’ll be able to marvel at the sight of multi-million pound yachts bobbing on the water around the famous harbour before heading into the principality itself.
Here, you’ll find designer stores at every turn where you can attempt to find a bargain or simply enjoy some window shopping, whilst there are countless cafes, bars and restaurants where you can sit back with a drink or grab a bite to eat whilst watching the world go by.
Despite the compact nature of Monaco as a destination, there are plenty of other places to visit whilst ashore.
Chief amongst them is the iconic Monte Carlo Casino, which is known around the world, as well as the Monaco Cathedral – where Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly were both laid to rest.
Other popular attractions include the Japanese Gardens, the open-air theatre of Fort Antoine and the Oceanographic Museum, which houses one of the largest collections of ocean exhibits in the world.
Monaco is also known globally for hosting one of the biggest events of the Formula 1 season, and you can take a ride around the streets where the likes of Schumacher, Senna and Hamilton have raced to victory – albeit at a much lower speed!
